Artist bio
Molly Margaret Sydnor (b. 1993) is a Dallas-based multidisciplinary fine artist with an eye for textiles. She received a BFA in Fiber from The Maryland Institute College of Art in 2015. Originally brought to Dallas for a career in product development specializing in Rugs, Sydnor traded in her six year corporate design career for Non Profit work. She produces creative marketing for adults with disabilities and teaches youth to find their voice through activism and art. She was recently exhibited at Future Front during Austin Studio Tour and her installation currently resides at the Down town Dallas iteration of Sweet Tooth Hotel. Molly creates interactive work through storytelling and the layering of media, ideas and imagery of identity and the body. Experimentation, innovation, and play ground Sydnor’s work in her exploration of the complexities of gender, race, and sexuality. Sydnor is a biracial, queer identifying, woman whose self identity heavily influences her work.
